The Dreame Z1 Pro has completely transformed how I maintain my 12-metre in-ground pool. Fully cordless operation means no more tangled cables at the pool edge. The PoolSense 3D navigation maps the pool and methodically cleans the floor, walls and waterline. The waterline cleaning impressed me most — limescale and greasy deposits are thoroughly removed. The 180-minute runtime is more than enough for a complete clean. Best pool investment I have made.

I upgraded from a Dolphin S200 that only cleaned the floor. The Z1 Pro cleans floor, walls and the waterline — a massive step up. The 120 litres per minute suction captures leaves and insects effectively. The 180-micron filtration catches even fine particles. The only drawback is the 7.5 kg weight, which makes lifting it out of the pool a bit of an effort. The smart parking helps by bringing it to the edge, but you still need to lift it out.

The 10,000 mAh battery delivers a genuine three hours of continuous cleaning. My 10-metre pool is fully cleaned — floor, walls and waterline — in about two hours. There is still charge left. Smart parking guides it to the edge for easy retrieval. For a cordless pool robot, this runtime is extraordinary.

I have an above-ground rectangular pool of about 8 metres and the Z1 Pro adapted to it perfectly. The PoolSense 3D navigation mapped the dimensions and shape within minutes. It climbs the smooth walls without issue and cleans the waterline effectively. The LiFi remote works well underwater. The price is steep compared to corded Dolphin models, but the cordless convenience justifies the premium.

The Z1 Pro does a solid cleaning job. Floor and walls come up clean and the waterline is well treated. The PoolSense 3D navigation works effectively with optimised paths. However, at 7.5 kg, retrieving the robot from the water is not easy, especially for one person. The 180-micron filter clogs quite quickly in autumn with fallen leaves and needs frequent cleaning. For the asking price, I would have liked an easier-to-maintain filtration system.
