Dreame Mini — Hair Care Appliance

I travel frequently for work and the Dreame Mini has been a revelation. At 270 grams it weighs less than my phone and fits into any bag. The 100,000 RPM motor is genuinely powerful — my shoulder-length hair dries in about 2 minutes, which is remarkable for something this small. The negative ion technology keeps my hair smooth and frizz-free even in humid hotel rooms. Cannot recommend it enough for frequent travellers.

We bought the Dreame Mini specifically for our children and it has solved our biggest morning routine problem. Our 5-year-old used to scream when we dried her hair because regular dryers were too hot. The kids mode keeps a steady 40 C which is warm enough to dry effectively but gentle enough for sensitive scalps. The LED indicators make it easy to confirm you are in the right mode. Brilliant design from Dreame.

I was sceptical that a 270-gram dryer could match a full-size one, and honestly it does not quite match my salon dryer. But for daily use and travel, it is outstanding. My medium-length hair dries in under 3 minutes and the ionic technology leaves it noticeably shinier. The only reason for four stars is that the noise level is slightly higher than I expected for such a small device. Build quality is excellent though.

I keep the Dreame Mini in my gym bag permanently. It is so light I barely notice it and yet it dries my hair quickly after a workout. The compact size means it takes up almost no space alongside my trainers and towel. The temperature control is intelligent — you can feel it adjusting to keep heat consistent. I would have loved a small carry pouch included in the box, but that is a minor gripe for an otherwise brilliant product.

The Dreame Mini is a solid compact dryer that works well for short to medium hair. The 2-minute drying claim is accurate for my short hair. However, when my wife tried it on her thick, waist-length hair, it took considerably longer and she went back to her full-size dryer. The kids mode is a nice touch and the negative ion technology does reduce static. If you have shorter hair or need a travel dryer, it is excellent. For thick long hair as a primary dryer, look elsewhere.
