Dreame Pocket Pro — Hair Care Appliance

I travel for work every week and the Pocket Pro has been a game-changer. At 300 grams it weighs less than my phone, yet the 110,000 RPM motor dries my short bob in under a minute. The three folding forms mean it takes up barely any space in my carry-on. The anti-frizz nozzle gives salon-smooth results and the noise level is remarkably low. I have recommended it to every colleague who travels regularly.

I was sceptical about a hair dryer this small being any good. I was completely wrong. The Pocket Pro has the same 110,000 RPM motor you find in full-size Dreame dryers, and it shows. My partner uses it daily and her hair looks fantastic — the ionic technology really does reduce frizz. The 4 attachments are clever and well-made. The Pocket Pro is genuinely impressive. The 70 m/s airflow from such a tiny body is remarkable. My medium-length hair dries in about 3 minutes. The curling barrel creates nice waves and the diffuser works well on my natural curls. The only downside is that the attachments are necessarily small due to the 50 mm body, so styling larger sections takes more passes. For travel, it is unbeatable though.

I keep the Pocket Pro in my gym bag and it is perfect for a quick dry after swimming. The 40-second claim for short hair is accurate — my crew cut is dry almost instantly. Build quality feels solid despite the compact size. The 6-layer noise reduction works well; it is noticeably quieter than the wall-mounted dryers at the gym. I dock one star because the blowout nozzle could have a wider spread for thicker hair.

The Pocket Pro is an engineering marvel for its size. The 110,000 RPM motor is genuinely powerful and the ionic technology keeps my hair smooth. However, with very long, thick hair, it takes considerably longer than my full-size dryer. The compact attachments are fiddly on long sections. I use it exclusively for travel now and it excels in that role. If you have short to medium hair, it could easily be your only dryer.
