Dreame D20 — Robot Vacuum & Mop

We have a large three-bedroom house of about 150 sq m and the D20 cleans the lot on a single charge. The 13,000 Pa suction is impressive for this price — it picks up everything from fine dust to cereal crumbs the kids leave behind. The anti-tangle brush means I never have to clean the roller. Brilliant value without the auto-empty station.

I chose the D20 over the Pro Plus because I wanted the smallest possible dock for my studio flat. The charging base is tiny compared to the auto-empty station. The 700 ml bin is generous — I empty it about twice a week for my 45 sq m flat. The HyperStream brush handles my long hair without tangling, which is fantastic. Mopping is adequate but basic with the 32 humidity settings.

Having owned three robot vacuums that all suffered from hair tangling, the D20 is a breath of fresh air. The HyperStream dual brush genuinely does not tangle — I have checked after every clean for two months and it is always spotless. Add 13,000 Pa suction and 285 minutes of runtime and you have an outstanding robot for the money.

The suction and brush quality are excellent for the price. However, without the auto-empty station, I am emptying the 700 ml bin every other day with our two cats. The Smart Pathfinder navigation is decent but noticeably less efficient than LiDAR — it sometimes retraces its path. The mopping feature is barely worth mentioning. If you have pets, I would recommend spending more on the Pro Plus for the station.

For the price, the D20 delivers remarkable suction at 13,000 Pa and genuinely useful mopping with the 32 humidity levels. The 285-minute runtime is class-leading and the 700 ml bin means fewer trips to the dustbin. Voice control with Alexa and Siri works reliably. The only weakness is the bump-based obstacle detection — it nudges furniture rather than avoiding it.
